I.T. Support & Junior Developer Role

Windows 7, 10 & Server 2012, SQL, VB.NET
£18K – £27K depending on experience

This role, which is to start immediately, is based in Chelmsford, Essex.
Reporting to the IT Director, you will be supporting existing systems and users including some hardware maintenance, workstation maintenance, network administration and maintenance and development of in house bespoke systems. You will also help maintain the company’s business continuity architecture.
You will have a solid experience of supporting the Windows operating systems (7 & 10), Windows Server 2012, Office 2016, MSSQL Server and some development experience, preferably using VB.NET and/or Excel VBA. The role does NOT include website support or development.
Any experience of .NET, C#, PowerShell or other scripting languages or knowledge of the Electricity industry would be of benefit, though is not essential. As would any experience in network administration e.g. active directory, DNS, DHCP etc.
As you will be working in a small team, you MUST be capable of:
• producing work with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy;
• working under pressure and solving problems with minimal supervision;
• flexibility in terms of working time with a commitment to project deadlines;
• working on a wide range of tasks simultaneously;
• working collaboratively within the team, and working with a reasonable level of autonomy;
• communicating technical concepts to non-technical users, with good language skills, both spoken and written.
Out of office hours support may be required from time to time.
